You may not necessarily need to know the next step, but the fact remains that you need to take a step.

That’s the premise of this week’s newsletter.

It’s a simple idea that causes a lot of internal conflict.

Naturally, we want to have all the answers. Especially as we strive for greatness. We want to know that if we follow a particular plan, program, or specific set of steps, we will eventually (hopefully sooner rather than later) end up at our desired destination: success.

However, life has other plans for us.

We also know there are no guarantees. We know failure is very much an option. We know it’s possible to do everything right and still not achieve our desired results.

So where does that leave us?

We want certainty in an uncertain world. If not certainty, we at least want to know that a particular outcome is more likely than not. But we also know that isn’t always achievable, or even plausible.

So again, where does that leave us?

What’s the remedy?

Simple.

Just focus on the next step.

Short on cash? Get up to $750, no credit check.

Is payday still a few days away, but the bills aren't waiting? We've all been there. That's why there's Klover — a cash advance of up to $750* from your upcoming paycheck, with no credit check and no late fees. Ever.

Cash in 3 Easy Steps

  • Sign up — Creating your Klover account takes just minutes.

  • Link your bank — Securely connect the account where your paycheck lands.

  • Get your cash — Access up to $750* within minutes for a small fee, or wait 3 days and get it for free.

No credit check. No late fees. No catch — just a little breathing room until payday.

*Not all users will qualify. Advances range from $25–$750; average advance is $170. Express transfer fees may apply.

I’ll repeat that…just focus on the next step.

Not 10 steps. Not 100. Not even the outcome.

At this point in the journey, we’ve already thought about the end. We know what we want it to look like. We’ve reverse-engineered it, and we have an idea of the steps and actions we need to take to achieve that outcome.

So all we can do now is focus on the next step in the plan.

One step at a time.  Not as a cliché, but as an actual way of thinking and operating.

With each step, we get feedback. With that feedback, we become better informed and better equipped to take the following step.

With each step, the path becomes a little more illuminated. We’re able to better determine whether the direction we’re heading aligns with our long-term goal (the one we reverse-engineered from the beginning) or whether we need to make an adjustment.

Sometimes, while taking those incremental steps, it may not actually feel like we’re going in the right direction.  Not because the feedback says we aren’t, but because the progress may not be quantifiable just yet.

That’s where the plan being the plan and sticking to the script, comes into play.

Just keep taking the next step.  Take in the information. Learn from the feedback. Adjust accordingly. Then take another step.

One thing is certain: not taking those steps guarantees that you won’t achieve the goal you set out for yourself.

Taking the step doesn’t guarantee success, but standing still guarantees you won’t get there.

And at the very least, every step gives you something you didn’t have before: new information, new experience, and a clearer view of what comes next.

You don’t need to have the entire path figured out.

You just need to take the next step.
